Description

SSP's Burger King operation at Leeds station is a thriving retail catering unit serving people on the move. Working closely with the Unit Manager to run the unit, you will have a real impact on the business - serving customers on the move, directly affecting profit and loss, managing Burger King's high brand standards and motivating the team to deliver the highest standards of customer service. You will often work independently in this highly operational role and can maximise the opportunity to develop your skills from managing and motivating the team, placing stock orders, taking deliveries, driving sales, controlling costs and having a real impact on every aspect of running the unit. You will also help with the operational procedures as an integral support to the Unit Manager, running the site in their absence and playing a key role in its success. As an Assistant Manager in our business, there is a clear, structured career path for your future development and progression.

Required Experience
You should ideally have experience in a busy, branded food retail catering environment and be used to working varied hours, with some early starts. (Fast food experience would be a bonus). The huge variation in shift hours means this role would best suit someone who lives locally - so you can improve other people's travels without spending too much time commuting yourself. More than anything, you should want to offer great customer service, appreciating the impact this has on the business. You will need previous experience of having accountability for the financial performance, quality of service, maintenance of brand standards and people management within your unit. If you have worked for the Burger King brand before (or similar 'fast food' type operation) a 'Basic Management Training' certificate (or equivalent qualification) would be highly desireable.
